Sovereign Receives BP’s 2012 Remediation Management Contractor HSSE Performance Award
Sovereign was one of several companies that received BP Remediation Management’s 2012 Contractor Performance Award for safety. The award is in honor of six incident-free years, with Sovereign having worked over 200,000 hours during that period for BP sites throughout NJ, PA, MD, ME, RI, and IL.
Sovereign accepted the award at BP's annual Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) Performance Meeting in Houston, TX earlier in the spring.
“We are honored by BP’s recognition of our safety performance over the last 6 years," said Iain Bryant, Sovereign’s Program Manager for BP project sites. “Thanks to our front-line staff’s diligence and attention to safety and health out in the field, and the guidance from our office staff, we demonstrated a strong commitment to reviewing, recognizing, and mitigating hazards. Our staff’s pro-safety attitude is what earned the recognition.”
Bob Holwitt, Sovereign’s Health and Safety Manager, also attended the BP conference in Houston. He said it was very encouraging to receive acknowledgment and affirmation that Sovereign’s H&S program is in alignment with the client’s goals and expectations.
