Geotechnical Investigation and Barrier Wall Construction, USACE, Fort Devens, MA

As a task order under the Fort Devens RAC, Sovereign conducted geophysical & geotechnical investigations to determine depth to bedrock gradient at a closed landfill in Former Fort Devens, MA.

As part of site remediation, Sovereign installed an 850 ft long, 60 ft deep slurry wall along the eastern edge of the landfill to create a barrier to restrict groundwater flow from the landfill to a nearby pond. Sovereign conducted geotechnical drilling, engineering, and design for the slurry wall construction effort. Following this effort, Sovereign is updating the groundwater flow models and provide post-barrier wall hydraulic monitoring for the Corps.
