Pump Test Data Analysis and Preliminary Groundwater Impact Assessment, Residential Properties

Sovereign supports a water utilities company which services over 300 residential communities and commercial establishments in Delaware, particularly in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties. Sovereign completed a Preliminary Groundwater Impact Assessment (PGIA) report and groundwater mounding analysis for a proposed community residential wastewater treatment and disposal system at a residential subdivision in Sussex County, DE. Sovereign completed the mounding analysis which demonstrated the long-term effects of the proposed wastewater discharge at the subdivision using MODFLOW 2000. Sovereign presented key findings from site investigations in the PGIA report, which was submitted to the Delaware DNREC.

At another site in New Castle County, DE, the client sought to maximize the production capacity of a groundwater well. Sovereign evaluated and modeled pumping test results and performed data analysis to determine whether or not increasing production would affect a neighboring subdivision’s wells. Sovereign concluded that maximizing the production capacity of the client’s well would have little effect on the water level in the neighboring subdivision.
