Recently, regulators and property owners have refocused on the potential impact of off-gassing residual materials on indoor air quality (IAQ). Sovereign offers IAQ solutions ranging from investigation to remediation design and vapor barrier installation.

Chlorinated solvents, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and petroleum products can potentially impact indoor air through vapor intrusion. Groundwater and soils contaminated with VOCs emit vapors into the air that fills the space between soils, which can get trapped under a building foundation, or even drawn to a building foundation due to pressure differentials. If these compounds enter the indoor air, they pose a significant health risk to individuals living and working in the building.

Sovereign performs numerous vapor intrusion investigations for on-site and off-site chlorinated solvent and petroleum contamination which involve the collection of sub-slab, soil gas, and indoor air samples in stainless steel canisters or passive monitors with appropriate laboratory analysis.
